I am considering the same option and hope others reply. Still waiting for my hysterectomy which will stage my cancer but from pipelle biopsy I am stage 3 serous and the outlook is not good without continued treatment as far as I can tell. Due to all of the chemo side effects I am considering just letting the cancer go and have quality of life over quantity.

Wow! I never had a choice I did Brachytherphy..only did radation I did refused chemo. Never did scans for 5 years came back stage 4b still fighting it Did chemo then was the worst time of my life had to stop after 7 round had a pet scan after 3 months all came back doing immunotherapy now going on 2 years last. Now they found 2 spots in my neck. I feel like it's going to be treatment the rest of my life but there will be a day like yup I'm done and leaving it in God's hand and going with supplements

I have decided to decline chemo. I just have to decide between external beam or internal Brachytherapy. They are offering me either.

I had a total hysterectomy on Dec 30, and my final diagnosis is endometrial adenocarcinoma, FIGO Grade 1, FIGO Stage IIA. No invasion outside of uterus at all; nodes look good. Had a full body CT scan with contrast as well as within the past year had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, urodynamic testing, PAP smear. Everything was normal; no metastases. But there was greater than 50% invasion into myometrium and 3% invasion into stroma.

When I went in for my two week post-op, the Gyne-oncologist-surgeon told me the adjuvant procedures she recommends is 6 weeks radiation, 5 days per week, and 5 weeks of chemo once a week for 4-5 hours. I nearly fainted; couldn't believe it. So, after letting it sink in for a day or two, I started contacting other doctors in other parts of the country for a tele-doc. No one recommended chemo; each one told me to say no mainly because of the Grade 1 and no invasion into nodes. If it was a more aggressive tumor, they might have said something different.

I have an appointment a with an experienced oncology radiologist in another part of the country who will treat me with Brachy only, and I have my appointment here on the east coast with the radiologist that my surgeon is sending me to. I will listen to what the latter has to say, but I'm certain that I will not do chemo. If the local radiologist agrees to my request, then I might just stay local.

I will post again after I make my final decision.

Nancy, hopefully your cancer will respond to one of the gentler chemo treatments. There are women who only had hair loss as a side effect! It is great to hear your lymph nodes are clear, that should be a big relief to you. Had a PET scan yesterday which was much easier than my previous CAT scan. From what I understand of endometrial cancer you will need chemo treatment or it will reoccur. I wish I had a hysterectomy first, back in November 2024, before all of the scans as I have a fast spreading serous cancer which has probably not been lying quiet while I wait for all of the Doctor appointments.
