Can grade 2 endometrial cancer also be stage 1?

Yes, grade 2 endometrial cancer can definitely be stage 1. Grade and stage are two different ways doctors evaluate endometrial cancer.

Grade refers to how abnormal the cancer cells look under a microscope compared to normal cells. Grade 2 is considered a low-grade cancer, meaning the cells look somewhat similar to normal cells and tend to grow more slowly.

Stage refers to how far the cancer has spread in your body. Stage 1 means the cancer is confined to the uterus and hasn't spread to other areas.

So you can have a grade 2 tumor that's still only in the uterus (stage 1). The grade tells doctors about the cancer's aggressiveness, while the stage tells them about its location and spread. These are independent factors that help guide your treatment plan.

Hi Judy. I had stage 1A. Grade 2 endometrial cancer . I think the biomarkers are more important in assessing the cancer. Hopefully you will have those results as well.
