Look into icing or compression therapy to help lessen chemo caused neuropathy. My oncologist had me take l-glutamine to protect my digestive system from Carboplatin neuropathy and Vitamin B6 in the 5-p-5 form. Do not supplement with Vitamin b12 or iron as cancer loves those. Two days prior and one day after your infusion do not take calcium or eat dairy as the calcium messes with the nerves and cause worse neuropathy.

What a lot to take in — a new diagnosis and a treatment plan all at once. Starting with chemotherapy for stage 3 serous endometrial cancer is a well-recognized approach, and a 3-week cycle over six sessions is a common schedule.
For this stage and type, doctors often use a combination of drugs. The most frequently used are:
- Carboplatin + Paclitaxel — the most common combination
- Cisplatin + Doxorubicin — another option used in some cases Chemotherapy works throughout the whole body, which is especially important for serous endometrial cancer since it tends to grow and spread quickly. The rest period between cycles (those 3 weeks) gives your body time to recover.
It's worth knowing that additional treatments like radiation, immunotherapy, or targeted therapy may follow chemo, depending on how things go. Side effects are real and worth preparing for. Chemo can affect fast-growing cells in your body, which may impact:
- Bone marrow (affecting blood counts)
- Hair follicles (hair loss)
- Mouth (sores)
- Digestive tract (nausea, etc.)
Don't hesitate to ask your care team about managing side effects — they have tools to help make treatment more comfortable.
