What a journey you've been through β€” and starting a new chemo regimen after multiple recurrences takes real courage. Moving to cisplatin and doxorubicin makes sense given that carboplatin and paclitaxel were already used in your first line of treatment.

When cancer returns after prior chemotherapy, the care team needs to switch to drugs the cancer hasn't been exposed to before. Cisplatin and doxorubicin is a recognized combination for recurrent and advanced endometrial cancer, particularly at stage 4. Here are some things worth discussing with your oncologist as you prepare:

- Drug resistance β€” Recurrent cancer can sometimes resist prior treatments, so your team will monitor how well this new regimen is working
- Side effect management β€” Doxorubicin can affect the heart over time, so cardiac monitoring may be part of your care plan
- Clinical trials β€” At stage 4B with multiple recurrences, clinical trials investigating new drug combinations may be worth exploring
- Targeted therapy options β€” Combinations like lenvatinib with pembrolizumab have been used for recurrent endometrial cancer that didn't respond to prior treatments, and may be worth asking about It's completely reasonable to ask your oncologist whether any additional therapies β€” like targeted therapy β€” could be added alongside cisplatin and doxorubicin to strengthen the regimen. You deserve to feel informed and supported every step of the way. πŸ’™
