I had a CT scan with contrast as part of my pre-surgical routine. It showed all the abdominal organs which thankfully were free of cancer. It's a precaution to see if cancer has spread. The ct scan was no big deal to go through and the results did make me feel better about everything.
You will find that it’s not bad. No need to worry.
Please don’t worry, it is nothing, really. Just do it!
I had a CT Scan with Contrast last week -- literally the first thing my doctor ordered post diagnosis. It was very fast and easy! They injected me with contrast dye (via an IV in my arm) -- it didn't hurt. It just felt like I was getting a bit warm and my mouth sort of tasted like pennies for a minute or two. I experienced no pain and it was only a few minutes long so I was in and out. They told me to drink a lot of water both before and after the test (to flush the kidneys). That was it. Best of luck with yours.
I agree with all of those who say don’t worry about this test. When I read the results on MyChart, it let me know other things about my body I didn’t know and had worried about.
