How can severe diarrhea during external beam radiation be managed?

It's completely understandable to be worried about diarrhea during radiation, especially since you experienced it during chemo. The good news is that diarrhea from radiation therapy can be managed with the right support.

Diarrhea is a recognized side effect of external beam radiation therapy for endometrial cancer. Your cancer care team can help you manage this symptom with medications - both over-the-counter and prescription options are available.

The key is communicating openly with your cancer care team about any symptoms you experience. They can recommend specific treatments to help control diarrhea and keep you comfortable during your radiation sessions.

Since you already know diarrhea is a concern for you, mention this to your team before starting radiation. They may be able to provide preventive strategies or have medications ready to help you manage symptoms quickly if they develop.
