I did 3 sessions in May, and the final one was completed 15 days ago. I felt a bit weary for 1 or 2 evenings after the treatment but experienced no other side effects. I just carried on with my normal life. In fact, one week after the final treatment I went on a 2-3/4 hour walk with a good friend in a hilly area and logged 16,000 steps that day on my Fitbit.

What a great attitude going into brachytherapy β€” and it sounds like the fitting went smoothly, which is a wonderful sign! Having just 2 or 3 sessions of high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy as a precaution after surgery is a common and well-established approach for endometrial cancer.

Fatigue is very real with radiation treatment. Here are some suggestions that may help manage your energy levels:

- Rest when you need to β€” don't push through exhaustion
- Light activity like short walks can actually help boost energy levels gently
- Stay hydrated and eat nutritious, balanced meals
- Accept help from friends or family when offered
- Plan your day around your best energy windows
- Prioritize sleep and keep a consistent sleep schedule It's also worth knowing that some side effects can appear within two weeks of treatment. The most common ones with vaginal brachytherapy include vaginal irritation or discharge, and sometimes diarrhea or discomfort when urinating.

Always let your care team know about any new or bothersome symptoms β€” they can help manage them effectively. You're doing great! πŸ’ͺ
