Members rallied around someone asking whether her symptoms, including irregular bleeding, post-intercourse spotting, and a family history of endometrial cancer, were worth investigating further, with the unanimous message being to absolutely pursue every recommended test without guilt. Several members shared their own journeys with endometrial cancer, emphasizing that early detection led to better outcomes, and encouraged her to advocate for herself if any doctor dismissed her concerns. A recurring theme was that using medical resources for your own health is never a waste, and that knowing your body and pushing for answers can be lifesaving.

Hi Amber. I was recently diagnosed with endometrial cancer. My daughter, 48 yo, has shared with me that her periods have been every three weeks and different than normal since her last child was born 6 years ago. Because of my diagnosis she is pursuing a hysterectomy. Her gynecologist supports this. I'm just saying that being proactive is important. Do all that you can to get checked out and don't hesitate. If you're ever at a spot where you feel like your gyn isn't supportive of your gut feelings move on to another one. You know your body best. Don't be afraid to use the resources available to you. You are blessed to have them. I'll be thinking of you.

Hi Amber,
How about a Cancer Antigen 125, also known as CA125???? It's a blood test. (in addition to imaging, of course)
It's easy, it's "inexpensive" and even if it's normal, it's good to have this baseline set for future tests.
When my asymptomatic "at least Stage 3" cancer was detected my CA125 was 288. Now after 3 rounds of chemo (so far), it's down to 57. 35 or less is considered "normal". This test won't tell you where the cancer is, but it's one more opportunity to be sure something isn't overlooked.
Please stop worrying about spending resources. Worry about taking the best possible care of you.
Best wishes for good news.

It is better to use your medical resources than get to ignore these signs and be in a worse condition. I am an advocate for early detection. Your recover is better if it is caught in early stages. My doctor told me when I had lung cancer that a small node in one lung and a blood clot in another. There is a high possibility of recovery. I don’t have lung cancer , but still working on the endometrial cancer that was detected while I was on Keytruda. I had bleeding from my vagina and several doctors said it wasn’t serious . The gyn/oncologist said a D&C would take care of it. Well I ended up having a total hysterectomy . The early detection was so much better. I’m still having paps and following directions for fighting endometrial cancer. I hope you have the tests to care for yourself . Only you can know how your body works . Don’t let anyone say it’s nothing . There are ways to stay healthy. God Bless

I did several things when my cancer hit in 2021. I had the various symptoms pelvic pain, spotting, nausea, discoloration etc. Had blood tests that showed nothing.. They were negative.

With endometrial hyperplasia had too much pain for a ultrasound so a D n C found my first stage 1A polyp. Cancer confirmed in May 2021 and due to backup of surgeries in 2021, I waited til Sept for my total hysterectomy. More cancer found inside stafe 1A. Nodes were all good.

Now, I am 5 years cancer free!!! My obgyn wants to still see me annually for my pelvic. There is only about 5% of a return but they still plan to monitor me. I was a Johnson an Johnson talc user as a teen which I believe brought my cancer but have no proof and don't qualify for a law suit. But am thankful I advocated for myself.

So, though I celebrate today, I will continue to advocate for others and pray for all of you. I consider this online site as my family and my friends.

Blessings to all of you. 🦋
