Diagnosis was Stage IIC Mixed Endometrioid and Serous Endometrial Adenocarcinoma. Treatment included complete hysterectomy- chemo 6 rounds Taxol and Carboplatin; 28 rounds External Beam Radiation. Original Biopsy showed only Endometrioid Cancer; pelvic washings showed the Serous Cancer - so Chemo and Radiation were added to treatment plan. Considering trial of HRT possibly - would like to hear from those who have please.
That’s good advice really. I know it’s frustrating. I’m going to be 67 in December and I know some of this is age and less activity for me . But who knows what all these treatments do to our metabolism and hormones. I only know that I’m alive and “ healthy “ for a woman who has had 3 recurrences of this cancer. For that I’m extremely thankful. 🥲
Thanks Christine! Yes I’m just trying to stay positive. At least I’m much stronger with continued exercise but still struggling with weight loss despite being more active. My sleep is not back to normal yet and I know this can greatly sabotage weight loss so focussing on that as well. Still being told that my body has been through a lot and that I need to be patient.
Hi BD. I had similar experience. Have serous EC. Since treatments I’ve gained 20 lbs. weight gain from Decadron steroid administered before my trial drug Azenosertib. Can’t get weight off / I’m still on drug but thankfully Not on the steroid! Have had chemo Rad, immunotherapy, and Tamoxifen! The one I didn’t continue with was Tamoxifen due to side effects
But everyone is different! I dont sweat the wt gain anymore. Best of care to you 🤗
Thanks!!
What a journey — a complete hysterectomy, 6 rounds of chemo, and 28 rounds of external beam radiation is a lot for your body to go through. It's completely understandable that weight management feels frustrating, especially when you're already doing so much right with weight training and a good diet.
