I received a supplemental report on HER2 protein analysis immunohistochemistry:
HER2 result: Negative (score 1+)
Not sure what this means.. I have my post Op on Monday and should get the surgical pathology results that will tell me the stage.
Thank you so much Kathleen. I appreciate your good wishes. God bless you and may He continue to keep you in His loving care!
Hi Angie:
It appears from what the Ai answer to your question is right in. My pathology report showed that I was HER 2 positive 3 which I was told meant that it was a more aggressive and recurring cancer but the good news is that it meant I was a good candidate for the Kanjinti targeted therapy mono clonal antibody treatment that started when I started my chemo treatments in the fall of 2023 about 6 weeks after my hysterectomy, stayed on the every 3 week infusions for 2 years (a year more than most people are on it because I was able to tolerate it and because I was not a candidate for brachytherapy due to a deviated septum near the top of my vagina).
This 9/11 will be 3 years since my hysterectomy and I am doing well.
May thatch give you some hope as you move forward in your journey to not only being a cancer survivor but to being a thriver.
I will pray for your upcoming post surgery appointment with your oncologist and for your course of treatment to go well and give you many many years of enjoying life.
Kathy
What does a HER2 Negative score of 1+ mean in an endometrial cancer pathology report?
HER2 is a protein that can appear on cancer cells. When your report says "Negative (score 1+)", it means there is only a very small amount of HER2 protein detected on your cancer cells β essentially considered negative.
