Hi all. I was diagnosed with Grade 1, P53 wild-type, PTEN deletion Endometrial Cancer. I was lucky because the way we found it was due to a polyp that caused bleeding. Since that was removed, I've had no symptoms other than some soreness when I lay on my right side. I'm going crazy, though, because my first oncology appointment isn't until October 1 and I know I won't know my stage until they do surgery (at least that's what my research shows). I had Stage 1 grade? (I have no idea on the grade)
My symptoms was unusual bleeding. 1st week 2 days of it 2nd week 3 days of it 3rd week another 3 days and 4th week 2 days of it. By the 2nd week I was concerned so I talked to my GP who sent me for blood work and ultrasound (both came back abnormal) and then was issued a biopsy which then came back Cancer.
I had a total hysterectomy on Sept 21/26. Feeling a lil bit better post op. Healing is slow.
This all started 4 days after turning 52.

Hi Janet, I am 57. I was recently diagnosed with EC, stage 1. I had minimal symptoms. A very small amount of watery discharge, which caused me to wipe twice after a wee (instead of once)...nothing else. I thought it was just another menopause issue, until I finally consulted with my GP. She suggested a pelvic scan. A polyp was discovered and several weeks later was surgically removed. A sample taken from the polyp and my lining showed cancer present. I am due to have a full hysterectomy on Monday 🤞

Hello Hope/Smiles, it seems like we are on the same timeline. I had my full hysterectomy (including removal of both ovaries and tubes) on Monday 21st September 26. I am waiting for the results from the 2 lymphnodes taken from my groin as to whether they have any cancer cells or not. This will determine if I have additional treatment like radiation therapy or chemotherapy. Look after yourself 🙏

First of all, the anxiety of waiting is completely valid — and you are definitely not alone in feeling this way. The good news is that your cancer was caught early, and Grade 1 is the least aggressive grade, which is genuinely encouraging.

Many MyEndometrialCancerTeam members have shared similar experiences of having very few symptoms, especially in the earlier stages. Abnormal vaginal bleeding — exactly like what you experienced — is actually the most common early symptom of endometrial cancer, and catching it through that polyp was a real stroke of luck. Here's something reassuring to hold onto while you wait:

- Stage 1 endometrial cancer is confined to the uterus
- The 5-year survival rate for Stage 1 is around 95%
- Grade 1 tumors are considered the least aggressive type
- Having few or no symptoms is actually more common in early-stage cases

Your research is correct that staging is typically confirmed during or after surgery, so it's normal not to have that answer yet. It's easy to focus on the more advanced stories you see, but remember — people with early-stage diagnoses often have less reason to seek support online. The waiting period before your October appointment is genuinely hard, but try to take comfort in knowing your cancer was caught through symptoms, early, and is a low grade. That matters a lot.
