The CA-125 blood test measures the level of a protein called cancer antigen 125. Some endometrial cancers release CA-125 into the bloodstream, so an elevated level may indicate that the cancer has spread outside the uterus. A level of 25.6 is within the normal range, so this is reassuring that your cancer does not appear to have spread at this time. Since you have early stage, low grade endometrial cancer, the normal CA-125 level is a good sign. This test will likely be used to monitor you during and after treatment to make sure the levels remain normal, which would indicate successful treatment. Be sure to discuss the purpose and results of this and any other tests with your care team.
