Yes that’s what I was thinking -it’s so strange because I did have an ultrasound. A few years back and they were able to see them but this time around they are not visible . Thank you and I will keep you all updated …you are all the best !

I know you say you have a long history in your family of ovarian and uterine cancers, I just want to remind you that medicine has evolved and there are a number of great treatments now that are allowing many, many more women with such cancers to live long and happy lives with cancer. My grandmother had a hysterectomy in the late 1960’s and died of colon cancer many years later. She had no treatment or monitoring whatsoever. We have much better options now.

Dawn - I am so sorry you have to wait for your biopsy. Ultrasound images are not as detailed as those from a CT or PET scan. It is possible your ovaries are behind your uterus or other organs and therefore not visible on the ultrasound. You can ask your doctor about this when she returns.

That really makes sense Rebecca …I wonder if that is the case and it would make more sense to be honest . I have a very long line of women on my mother’s side who have had ovarian cancer and uterine cancer . I am so scared and once my doctor comes back from her vacation she is doing the biopsy so I guess until then I will not know . I just don’t understand how it states on my ultrasound that the ovaries cannot be viewed -what can that mean ?
