Hi Lisa. I had the 6 rounds of chemo with undenyca shot the next day. I started getting terrible pains in my bones. A few rounds of steroids and Claritin did help a bit with joint pains. I had 25 radiation sessions and felt fatigued with an increase an in joint, muscle pains. Legs very uncomfortable from frog pose for brachytherapy .Added gabapentin and over the counter Tylenol Precise cooling cream roll on. Massages and cools with lidocaine and menthol Still Neuropathy in my hands and feet. After 4 Months post chemo. Hair on its way back after leaving after 2nd chemo treatment. Prayers your side effects sre temporary and that you are kept comfortable.
Thank you Mary. I heard a lot of people get fatigue from the radiation. Different people get different side effects. I guess I won't know for sure until I go through it Two doctors mentioned Aleve for joint pain, which they told me can be taken with 1000 mg of Tylenol along with the Claritin. Not 100% relief but definitely helps. You may want to check with your doctors. Self-hypnosis also helps me. Praters for your healing and comfort.
Hi Louise. Thank you for your answer. Your story sounds a lot like mine. I have stage III uterine carcinosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. Six chemo sessions, just completed the third. Then I will need radiation. I have hair loss and find the bone pain to be the worst part. A plant-based diet, no dairy is one of the best things you can do to prevent the cancer from coming back.
I had 6 LONG sessions of chemo, taxol and carboplatin. Chemo hit me harder I believe. Hair loss ( although I cold capped, so it could have been worse) fatigue, and i think the bone pain in My knees mostly, was the worst. Thank goodness, no nausea Brachytherapy 5 session, not so bad, just awkward. Fatigue is all u have so far. Follow up Friday with radiation oncologist., Monday with oncologist. Worst for me is the fear of recurrence since it is aggressive.
No. I just completed 3 of 6 chemo sessions and will get radiation after that. They told me it would not be brachytherapy. How was it for you? Did you have chemo too?
