I just had a hysterectomy on 10/17/25, I’m stage 1,A grade 2. The cancer had only infiltrated my muscle 6% and the lymph nodes were clear. My question is do I do radiation to void possibly coming back or are side effects worse than not having radiation. The only factor that the radiologist told me is against me is my age. I was also diagnosed with stage 1a grade 2 last January. I underwent my hysterectomy in February. I’m 70 years old. I was never given the option of radiation. Or any other treatment or imaging. My oncologist said she wants me to go for check ups every 6 months. I was concerned that nothing more would be done. I was told that the surgery would be enough. So I can’t help with your decision but thought you would like to hear from someone with the same stage and grade. Good luck!
I have same. My surgeon, top in his field here in newark Delaware said and showed me the quidelines. Brachytherapy recommended for stage1a grade 2 when over 60. I am 70 so i am doing the radiation.
Should you have radiation therapy after your hysterectomy for stage 1A, grade 2 endometrial cancer?
This is understandably a tough decision. With your early stage and clear lymph nodes, surgery may be all you need. Some people with stage 1 endometrial cancer only require surgical treatment.

After surgery I had radiation therapy to clear small tumours in the peritoneal area. Apart from being tired while they were being done. I had no side effects. Since then, 2 years ago, I have tumours recur else where in lymph nodes around the aortic valve and neck. But no recurrence in the peritoneal area, for which I am grateful. I am stage 4b endometrial cancer.
