Thanks for the support. I still feel anxious.Now im scared the PET scan will show other areas. I always thought breast cancer was my future since my mom had it and my grandma died from it.

I'm sorry you had kind of the same experience I did. Had a Total Robotic Hysterectomy with Bilateral Salpingo-Oopherectomy and the pathologist doing the Frozen Section gave the dr an "all clear." At my follow up visit a week later the gynecological surgical oncologist walked in with the Pathology report and apologetically told me that a "small polyp" was found and it was "clear cell" a very aggressive cell. Henceforth I had the basic same surgery the very next day for Staging.
My immediate response in my head was Thank you G-d... all I said to the dr was " when can you do it?" I was lucky that on second examination it was discovered. I was lucky... Stage 1a... however Clear Cell is Grade 3. I had 5 treatments of radiation at the vaginal cuff. Pet Scan was ok last December.
Seeing both oncologists every 3 months and due for a Pet Scan after my next visit. It been 16 months since surgery.
Sorry you thought you were in the clear and got such heartbreaking news.
I endured the same circumstance. I'm so grateful for the finding - and never mind the repeat surgery - things happen. Sit down. Take a deep breath. Stand up straight. Think to yourself

Had a PET scan yesterday and didn't have the complete report. The radiation oncologist I met with in the afternoon viewed the scan and said he observed distant metastases in several places, small but noticeable, in addition to the new tumor. So will await the complete report and for my case to be presented to the tumor board.

I'm IIIC1 as of last August with a recurrence in the midst of chemotherapy.
If my sentinel lymph node wasn't removed in August, the pathology would have given me a clean bill of health as the cancer cells were so small they didn't appear on the CT scan prior to complete hysterectomy.
