I have declined brachytherapy due to fears of damage to bladder, intestine, and potential of bone weakening. It was recommended as a preventative for Stage 1b if I knew there was cancer in vagina I might reconsider.

Mary
I had my VBT and it was ok except little burning on first day. I have rectal itching and I will be starting on hemoroid cream soon.

Side effects ofVBT may not be as severe as external radiation. However, I am noticing some pain in HIP area, I have to talk to my radiation oncologist. I have Ostheopenia ( don’t know if this is from further bone weakening).
