I am 11 days post op of a complete hysterectomy (ovaries, tubes, cervix, uterus). Yesterday I just started experiencing a little 'dribbling' if you will when I sit down, or bend over a certain way. Today I went for a walk and 'dribbled' about 1/4 of the way. And I had JUST been to the bathroom! :( Just curious if this is normal or anyone else had similar issues. I see my primary dr on Monday for a bp check, so will ask her as well. TIA to anyone who has any wisdom to share. :)
I'm glad to hear you received a call back from the surgeon's office. I hope the issue subsides soon. I've heard positive things about pelvic floor therapy.
Just adding my update - my "dribbles" finally stopped! They lasted about 2 weeks after they began which was 10 days post op. I am going to see a pelvic floor therapist however, just to be on safe side.
Thanks, Heather! I did get a call back from my surgeon's office who said it is very common due to the trauma of the surgery 🙁 I have an appointment on October 2nd, so she said as long as I am not having any fevers or bloody/cloudy urine or pain, then this can be addressed at my appointment. She did say they could recommend pelvic floor therapist too. So, I guess this is just another part of recovery 🤷🏻♀️. It just sucks because I feel like everything else has went so well for the most part. Oh, and also because I am not very patient LOL!
Hi Nickey, I had the same issue after my hysterectomy. It stopped after two weeks. Don't hesitate to contact your surgeon if it continues.
Nickey, I didn't have much incontinence after the hysterectomy but have it with the chemo treatments.
I should take stock in depends and poise pads!
