As a veteran of 5 years of treatment (diagnosed in 2020 treated with hysterectomy & external radiation), then a recurrence in 2023 & another in 2024, I can tell you that the hysterectomy was the easiest of all the treatments I’ve been through. I had a laparoscopic, robotic hysterectomy with uterus, cervix, ovaries & tubes removed along with 11 lymph nodes. I was in the hospital overnight, discharged the next day, never needed any pain meds once home & 2 days later I was painting the garage door. I’d much rather have surgery 10 more times than do chemo again. Of course, if you require an “open” procedure (with an abdominal incision), the recovery time is longer. Surgical techniques have come a long way. Talk to your doctor about what to expect given the surgical plan & your comorbidities.

My love and prayers to you. I do hope you are doing well. I was due to have my surgery this morning. I had to delay it due circumstances out of my control to around the 1st of December. Truthfully too, it scares the heck out of me. I'm on my own and it worries me whether I'm going to still be able to do the basics for a short while. Previous on the job injury has left me mobility challenged. I'm sorry if I appear to be a whiny cry baby but this is a place I have near gone before. I know someone who did and she had a real tough time with hers.

I was just diagnosed with Uterine Cancer stage 3 C1 and have yet to do post op and sit down to discuss my treatment plan or options.
We are in control of how we deal with our cancer through the choices we made so do what is best for you.

Im at stage 3. Im so sorry you have to go through this. Thank you for replying and bless you for doing so.
Im 67 and have several health issues due to an on the job I just back in 2003.
I'm in pain 24/7 as it is, I just really do not want to do this surgery. I'm trying to find a way to validate not having it to myself. Due to my injury I have developed lymphedema, degenerative disc disease in my lower back, osteoporosis and my knee are gone but due to the lymphedema they won't fix them.
So I'm really not looking forward to this at all.
But you know I just keep reminding myself there are folks worse than me and maybe it won't be as bad as I think.
