Has anyone taken etoposide for metastatic uterine carcinosarcoma at stage 4?
While the search results don't specifically mention etoposide for stage 4 uterine carcinosarcoma, they do outline common treatment approaches for your situation.
For stage 4 uterine carcinosarcoma, treatment typically includes chemotherapy combinations. The most commonly mentioned regimens include:
- Paclitaxel plus doxorubicin plus either carboplatin or cisplatin (three-drug combination)
- Ifosfamide combined with other chemotherapy drugs
Stage 4 endometrial cancer has often advanced beyond what surgery alone can address, so systemic treatments like chemotherapy become essential. These medications work throughout your body to target cancer cells wherever they occur.
Since you've just started oral etoposide, it would be helpful to connect with other members on MyEndometrialCancerTeam who may have experience with this specific medication. Treatment plans can vary based on individual factors, and your oncology team has chosen this approach based on your specific situation.
If you have questions about why etoposide was chosen for your treatment or how it compares to other options, discussing this with your cancer care team can provide clarity about your personalized treatment plan.
