I am 4 months post surgery and still working full time in a rather complicated situation that demands a lot of details, adjustment and flexibility. A hysterectomy is MAJOR surgery, and I too notice cognitive differences like not remembering names or not being able to keep as many things in my head or as many plates spinning as I used to; immediately post surgery there is MUCH need for rest. Give it time and lots of rest. My energy level gets better and better as time passes.
Mine was the 28th.
I had surgery on the 30th of January and I have a bit of brain fog.
Thank you Charlene. My energy level seems ok. It is the brain fog that bothers me.
Hi Jean,
I have brain fog. It's getting better. I work at a college with a CRNA program and talked to the department heads and they said it's from the anesthesia and might take as long as 6 to 12 months to completely go away. I was 4 months from surgery on the 29th. I find myself searching for words, having to think about procedures at work that I have done thousands of times, just feel foggy at times. Also still tired but not as bad.
